Joes paints with
acrylic and watercolor. He has a unique style often creating
techniques all his own. Ranging from highly detailed realism to
total abstracts, his tools vary from painting knives, brushes, and his
own fingers. His mastery of a style using heavy impasto to achieve
striking 3-D effects gives him one of his many original trademarks.
His creative abilities capture the essence of the islands' beauty in
seascapes, landscapes, waterfalls, and volcanoes. He also does pet
portraits, flowers, and fauna.

Joe is a brilliant, compassionate, fun-loving man who loves people and
is a true living treasure, a native son of Hawaii and a value to our
community. He paints every day of his life. And now at the
young age of 82, he still teaches and gladly shares his talents and
works of art with all peoples, spreading true Aloha throughout the
world.
